Offline Mode?

Is there going to be an offine mode? Haven't played this game in a while due to the fact that I can't play offline. I play offline games at work where I dont have an internet connection. And when I do have an internet connection.. well I'm playing games more worth while(no offense).

You can play Godus offline - you need to be online when the game is first launched but thats it.
It runs perfectly fine when in offline mode or without connection to internet as long as that initial online connection is made.

So.. I gotta start the game at home. Leave it up, leave my laptop up and running, drive to work, and get the laptop set up at work and then play the game? Then hope no technical issue causes the game to crash. And make perfectly sure I dont want to play the game anymore for the day before closing it.. Right?

Nah you don't have to leave it up. You just gotta launch it once while connected to the internet.

Afterwards you can launch it whenever. There's a bug or issue (or perhaps its intentional, I don't know) that the game will crash on the initial launch if you're not connected. But after that first launch you're golden. No connection needed.
Mind you, this is a first launch after installing (and potentially after updates, but don't quote me on that).
So whenever you reinstall you also need another "first launch" with online connection.

Oh so I just need to start it online... then I can close it, shut the laptop down completely.. I wont have a problem with it?

Kind of like Starcraft 2? Gotta at least start the game once online before it will let you play without internet.

Exactly. Its effectively a one-time activation. Perhaps a security measure.

You'll only to connect to the internet once to download the balance files, after that you no longer have to be connected to the internet.

Is it intended that offline play remain available to desktop/PC players, or is this on the roadmap to eventually go away?
