You should read the developer notes, the game is F2P on mobile as that is the best marketing way for mobiles at the moment.
Desktop games have been a Pay Up Front system for the longest time, and it is a scheme that works very well, a F2P on PC wouldn't be nearly as profitable.
Yes and no. It's the standard, but people are growing sick of all the microtransaction BS even there.
Microtransactions on mobile are actually fine, how they are implemented is the realy problem.
I was hoping that microtransaction for Godus would involve tweaking your followers, ie change their outfit, abode styles, personality etc as this has no impact on game flow, aka metagame
Not really, it's just about the same, except if you want to play the game at a reasonable pace you're going to be nickel and dimed at every turn to speed things up.
Ultimately I may spend less on mobile games but ultimately as far as I'm concerned, I'm getting less, the games are not nearly as complex as some PC games are that I may have spent just another fiver on.
But to each their own.
Its called the true sprit of God. Money magically into Gems and with Gems you can do anything within the split of a second. Not that it would make any sense to push the games progress, cause there simply is no more progress in the latest release than there has been for months. But hey mobile cash cows, don't know about those limits yet. Its just a different way of hitting the cash wall....end of progress...till further updates....
1st, this is probably the best free game on the app store.
I wouldnt be surprised if it topped the charts and made a lot of money.
2nd, What has the mobile market demographic got to do with you?
If you ask me 50% are teens at school and college being "cool" and the other 50% are adults who have no idea about PC gaming let alone how to install a game.
10/20 years from now mobile gaming for adults in its current state is over.

And in a few years if theres no additional paid content for PC (The topic is so poisoned now no one is going to welcome any sort of additional paid content without screaming at 22Cans) mobile users will be paying for further development and server costs...
1. I always predicted it to be a success on mobile, cause of its mobile focused input mechanic.
2. Me being far beyond my teen years for quite a while, is actually enjoying to boot up the mobile version, for a view minutes. Cause thats in fact the only game play to be found. A few minutes to click a mobile cash cow. But please don't call it any kind of indepth gameplay. You good gameplay you might remember it from the good old days, if you are not a teen. Its not. As you said it, its mobile gaming.
3. This game has been kickstarted as a PC FIRST title and went down the mobile F2P road right from the start. But 22cans actually is still tryomh to sell it as a PC FIRST title on steam, when its obviously not. And I just want this FALSE ADVERTISING to stop. Period!
Being the best of the worst doesn't exactly make you good or great, though. It still has you sitting at below average, and barely mediocre. Maybe I'm being too harsh, but as far as I'm concerned, there are no worthwhile free to play mobile games.
