Fun Adventures you would recommend to people finishing Broken Age Act 1?
Loom
Loom is a game I rarely tire of talking about, but Monkey Islands tends to hog all the credit. Not without some justification, I grant, but Loom being ignored is something of a travesty because while the setting isn't as outright funny as Monkey Island, it's every bit as fun and inventive as it's stablemate. Ask me about Loom!

Emerald City Confidential
This one kind of caught me by surprise, but it's a fun little take on the Wizard of Oz. Not a long game by any means, but still one I think is worth playing.

edit: to provide a little more detail on each game

Basically all of the classic LucasArts adventure games, if you can get your hands on them and somehow manage to get them to work on newer systems. (Although they are MUCH harder than Broken Age.) The 2 Indiana Jones games, along with Loom and The Dig are actually avaliable here, on Steam. Then there's the two Monkey Island Special Editions also on Steam, with which you'll have absolutely no problem at all (running them on your PC, that is). The other must-plays are of course Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle (Tim Schafer had a big part in these), Sam & Max, The Curse of Monkey Island (looks gorgeous even by today's standards) and Grim Fandango, the last of which isn't point & click but has great humour and was also designed by Tim.

The episodic follow-ups to these series (which have one, of course, namely Sam & Max and Monkey Island) by Telltale Games (founded by ex-LucasArts employees) are also worth checking. They are not as detailed or hard, but are solid fun. Their other games are good too, be it "classic" adventure (Back to the Future, Wallace and Gromit, Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People etc.), more story-heavy/cinematic with less emphasis on puzzles (The Walking Dead), puzzle games (Puzzle Agent 1-2) or card games (Poker Night 1-2). Yeah, I know, the latter ones aren't adventure games... :dealwithit:

Sierra's classic adventures (Leisure Suit Larry, King's Quest and Space Quest series) are said to be good too, sadly I don't have any experience with those. There's also Beneath a Steel Sky, which is freely avaliable (from GOG.com for example). Syberia 1-2 are also strongly recommended.

From the more recent ones there's the whole catalog of Daedalic Entertainment (I especially recommend The Whispered World) and Wadjet Eye Games (Gemini Rue, Resonance, The Blackwell-quadrology).

And I left the best -- and my personal favorite -- to last: The Longest Journey. If you can only play one adventure game in your entire life, this should be it! True to its name, it's extremly long and at least equally good. There's a less traditional, shorter sequel to it and one's already (finally!) in the works, too. They have a great universe, story and characters.

Sorry for the wall-of-text, but this whole genre is very dear to me (that's why I was so happy when Double Fine decided to do one) and luckily it produced quite a few gems in all these years. I hope I haven't left out anything from this list I wanted to include on it.

Edit: Seems like I did: Simon the Sorcerer.

The Blackwell Series (not too hard, not too serious, good choice for Broken Age fans)

Anything TellTale related (Especially Sam and Max, The Wolf Among Us, The Walking Dead)

Gemini Rue (for those looking for a more serious story)

The Cat Lady (only for mature players, extremely graphic)

Machinarium

The Dream Machine (this is a really underrated one, a must play)

Broken Sword 1 and 2 (funny, not too serious, good for Broken Age fans)

The Secret of Monkey Island

All of the above!

Monkey Island 1 and 2 have remastered version here on steam that also allow you to switch to the classic mode. Monkey Islands 1 through 3 are some of my favorite games of all time!

Many of the classics are completly playable on newer hardware thanks to ScummVM

You can get scumm vm for android and play old LucasArts games on your phone. They're really not that hard to find, but it can take a little tinkering to get it to work. There's also scumm vm for windows, so you could use that as well. (http://scummvm.org/)

Day of the Tentacle was my favorite Lucas Arts.

For people who finished and *liked* Act 1 very much, probably Botanicula, Machinarium, Kentucky Route Zero, Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery

For people that actually like playing Adventure games:
Simon the Sorcerer 1+2
Monkey Island Series (Special Editions are fine)
Day of the Tentacle
Sam & Max: Hit the Road
Discworld 1+2 and Discworld Noir
Grim Fandango
Blade Runner
Sanitarium
Loom
Beneath a Steel Sky
Gemini Rue
Woodruff and the Schnibble of Azimuth
Indiana Jones LucasArts Adventures
Space Quest Series
Kings Quest Series
Leisure Suit Larry Series (Leisure Suit Larry Reloaded was pretty good and it just came out not long ago)
ToonStruck
Star Trek: 25th Anniversary/Judgment Rites/A Final Unity
Full Throttle
The Dig

And when you're through with those, some of the grade "B" stuff:
Deponia Series
The Longest Journey + Dreamfall
Broken Sword Series
Floyd / The Feeble Files
Kingdom O' Magic
The Gene Machine
The Whispered World
Chewy - Escape from F5
Orion Burger
Ace Ventura
The Blackwell Series
Emerald City Confidential
Resonance
Jack Keane
Gilbert Goodmate
Legend of Kyrandia Series
Sam & Max (Episodic Series)
Tales of Monkey Island (Episodic Series)
Ankh Series

The Feeble Files: Hilarious and one of my favourites. Some parts are absurdly difficult and a couple of solutions just don't make sense, but it's a great experience.

Primordia: Another one by Wadjet Eye Games, not mentioned above. It's the only one I've played from them so far and I hear it's not as good as the rest of their catalog, but I enjoyed it a lot.

The Dream Machine: Have to give another recommendation for this. It's in 6 chapters though, and 4 have been released.

The Neverhood: An awesome adventure brilliantly animated using nothing but clay. I've never seen anything quite like it.

Grim fandango is easily the best Adventure game ever made, and last time I played it was running on Vista so it'll likely work under Win7/8.
Dimensio 17 ENE 2014 a las 20:53
I recently played through Grim Fandango on Windows 7 64-bit. I used ResidualVM to play it, however, rather than the original game engine. The game ran with little difficulty, though extracting the game files from the discs required a third-party tool (as the installer will not run in Windows 7 64-bit).

I can also strongly recommend Toonstruck, which I only discovered last year.

An excellent choice, but a pain to run on modern systems, isn't it?

Also, gotta say, I was hoping for less of an exhaustive list of available adventures, and maybe for people to point out two or three specffic games that they really liked that I had, perhaps, missed ;)

Took a look at your profile. Ones that I really like that you should check out, The Dream Machine and The Cat Lady.
Neither are the same tone as Broken Age, but brilliant in their own ways. Not for the faint of heart though.

Besides the ones already mentioned, I loves me some Gabriel Knight. Especially the first two. Those aren't on Steam, but they're all on GOG. And since no one's mentioned it yet, I'll throw out The Last Express. I haven't actually played it yet, but everyone says it's fantastic. (It's been sitting in my library for a while, waiting for me to find the time to play it.)

Stupid me, how could I forget about ScummVM?! I even used it about 2 years ago to play DotT. :) (So yeah, that part of my previous statement about getting them to run is retracted.)
What I meant when I wrote they are hard to find is that they are hard to find anywhere legally. I didn't want to promote piracy in a Steam discussion, but yeah, there's always that possibility. (It's a damn shame LucasArts' full catalog isn't available here, on Steam or GOG.com, and with Disney closing the studio I really can't see any chance of that happening in the near future...)

How in the name of all that is holy is The Longest Journey grade "B" stuff?!

Anyway, the Sierra-classics (King's Quest 1-8, Space Quest 1-6, Quest for Glory 1-5, Gabriel Knight 1-3, Torin's Passage) are on sale right now on GOG.com with a 60% discount.

(I hope Valve doesn't mind me advertising them since these games aren't available on Steam.)

And so it seems I really missed a lot of games from my list, Discworld 1-2 in particular. (In my defense I've never played those, though, not that it redeems me or anything...)

If I must narrow down my recommendation to only a handful of titles, it would be The Longest Journey first and foremost, Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle and Monkey Island 1-3.
