What is you favorite Lucasarts or Tim Schafer adventure game?
I have played a little of Broken Age so far and I've loving every moment, but beyond that I will reserve comments until I play a lot more or finish the game.

But the reason that brought me here, the reason I backed this game is Tim Schafer, or more to the point Lucasarts.

Lucasarts was some of my earlier as well as fondest experiences with gaming, with adventure gaming. I believe my first was Indiana Jones and The Fate Of Atlantis. My favorite among all of them, and one of my favorite games EVER (almost want to just say favorite) is Grim Fandango.

I loved Grim Fandango so much, that when I found out that the maker of that game was making a new adventure game from scratch (no idea, story, or art presented), I supported it blindly. I assumed something special was possible.

What is your favorite Lucasarts or Tim Schafer adventure game?

Without a shadow of a doubt, Grim Fandango.
Day of the Tentacle. By far. That was my first point and click adventure game, and I loved every moment of it. :pcrace:
I'm always hearing about Grim Fandango, but I never played it. Is there any way to download the game digitally, and does it even work in windows 7?
Edit: Forgot to mention The Secret of Monkey Island as favorite.

My Top 3 - At number 1 would have to be Grim Fandango, it is simply the best adventure game I have ever played! At number 2 I would pick Curse of Monkey Island, I loved the artstyle and atmosphere and my 3rd favourite would probably go to Full Throttle, it's a really short adventure but I loved every minute of it.

I have the CD version of it.... Very hard to run on modern OS, I had to extract the CD contents and then use ResidualVM to run it...

If you go to http://residualvm.org/ you can download the program needed to run it and find out how to play it, I think you will need to buy a cd version (maybe off eBay)

I LOVE Grim Fandango and play it through every 2 years or so. Last full playthrough was on Windows 7 and there were no issues using the steps detailed here: http://www.pcworld.com/article/239339/how_to_play_grim_fandango_on_your_windows_7_pc.html

Enjoy!

Grim Fandango, Monkey Island 2 and Day of the Tentacle. It's a close shave between those three to be honest. If I should pick one I'd go with Monkey Island 2 because it totally blew me away in comparison to the first one.

Cool, thanks. Might go ahead and order it off amazon, or ebay.

Day of the Tentacle! The art and the humor is the best of it's kind!
Grim Fandango and of course looking forward to an HD remake which will never occur :)

the one with the biker dude, then the day of the dead one. unfortunately i didnt play the one with the giant octopus. oddly enough, secret of monkey island was my first and least favorite adventure game.

Secret of monkey island.
With CGA graphics and a pc speaker.
as far as Lucasarts goes I'll have to say Maniac mansion..or maybe zak mcraken and the alien mindbenders, but I guess those games are long forgotten by most these days ;-)

If people do not already know this, Day of the tentacle is the sequel to maniac mansion, and you can play the original Maniac mansion on a computer somewhere in Dott ;-)
