Help? Can't switch back to Shay

Slight Spoilers from episode 1:

I got about halfway through shay's story when i first started, then switched over to Vella. Really liked hers so I finished it. I killed the Mog and it switched back to Shay. After a little bit of that I decided to try to switch back to Vella again.

My screen is now just her lying on the beach breathing but not moving. I can't wake her up and I can't switch back to Shay's story. Can't even open my little Inv menu. It saved here too so anytime I click continue or load my game it goes to this. I did not make any other manual saves, as I didn't think I'd need them. Can anyone help? I'd really rather not replay everything, because I just sunk a good 3 hours into this today.
