Please try the beta build!

Please try the latest beta and let me know how it works. It changes the guts of the game quite a bit, so I want to make sure it's stable before we flip it out to the public.

Features:
- Direct3D! If you've been using the software renderer on Windows because the game was messed up, remove "-software" from your launch options and try again, and it might work better (and give you the Steam Overlay, etc).
- Software renderer can scale the game up to match your desktop now, and use a bigger windowed mode.
- OpenGL still works on Windows (use the -opengl command line). It doesn't need GL_EXT_framebuffer_blit anymore.

Basically, everything should work better by default.

Also:
- Game controller support. Please note that the joystick support in the original Postal sucks, and all we've done so far is match what used to be there. Please don't complain that you can't configure your controller like you want or use more than four of its buttons. We know, we just filled in the missing joystick code in the engine, not redesigned the existing game. When there's time, we'll get back to this.


For those of you that want to try the new renderer, here's how you can get at it for now:

- Right click POSTAL in your game library.
- Click "Properties"
- Click "Betas"
- Select "beta" in the "Select the beta you would like to opt into" dropdown.
- Close the window, watch Steam download a tiny update to Postal, start playing.

Well guys i must say i love you! When i ran the game in fullscreen mode i didnt't had any voices. I had to play in windowed mode for it. But now it works properly. :D I played the ♥♥♥♥ outta Postal 2 before, but i have never played this one until i got it at this year's summer sale. This game RULEZ man as well as RWS.

Is the Steam Client actually running? That error means it isn't able to talk to Steam.

Now is working too with the Linux version, the last version had messed graphics and i have to use the --software option, but now it works without them, and i have steam overlay too, thanks!

I just bought it, and 2 things you might consider..... 1) actual xbox 360 controller support, and 2, a 16:9 option, or at least a stretch. This is a great conversion! it works great with modern systems.
