It's a known issue since the demo... but it only effects a small portion of the pc users, up to a point that it turned into a debate about skill issues in one of the threads as some claimed you can still use the mouse by pressing Alt/Shift (depending on your key settings)... so the priority to fix it or even getting it fixed might be questionable...

If you can't wait for the updates, there's a faster way to "hot fix" it yourself, try go to the mobile version of the game, use steam as login method and login your steam account there, play that part and finished it, then you can continue the rest back here on the steam version.

There are other PC players with this problem sharing how they overcome the problem with certain placement or movement in the game in the forum, you can check those out if you don't have a mobile phone for the game.

My personal hypothesis is that the game ui code might be bugged for some of the resolution settings and caused part of the UI functions to be "off", it's not uncommon when it comes to game programming imo... the more "prediction" put into the coding, the less problems will come from it... which can also means, the lack of prediction might cause the UI to freeze in certain conditions that it can't or doesn't know what to do... so experience in such matters is important. But sadly our Sky coders is quite young in compare, so there could be things that they didn't "predict" throughout enough to prevent these bugs from happening.

I'm in no rush for it, slowly just trudging along with the game and having fun ^w^

"It's a known issue since the demo... but it only effects a small portion of the pc users"

Aka devs are dragging their feet and left in a softlock locking users out of one of the shops that specifically affects pc while releasing ON PC.

Good job. Round of applause.

Sorry but i personally have no patience for the pushing of overpriced cosmetics when theres a softlock that as ive looked up now seems to have clearly been known for a while.
Should have been fixed before releasing on pc if it ONLY affects pc.

Just sayin.

Only real complaint so far on the game dont get me wrong.

The problem there is among the PC players, only a small portion is effected. And most of them later either finds a way to "overcome" it using advice from other players with similar problems, or they goto the mobile to finish it. That's what raised the debate about "skill" issue, but that's not an excuse for something like this to happen imo... even when it's a skill issue, it simply means there's lack of information to teach the players the skill they needed if they ended up here in the forum looking for help. So either way, it's something the devs needs attention with and a fix, it's just that they might not put it on the top priority of their list, and may take sometime before it's really fixed.

Doesnt matter if its a "small amount"
Happens frequently enough to show up in searchs.
Tried all forms of fixes and not a single one works.
Its not a "skill issue" its a softlock of the game.
Theres not a lack of information theres a lack of effort on the developer side.
Not fixing a softlock like this before releasing on pc is at minimum an oversight at most sheer incompetence.

Using another device to play the game normally is not a "fix".
Users shouldnt be expected to download another form of the game to "fix" it because the devs are dragging their feet.
Pushing overpriced cosmetics over fixing bugs. Priorities seem par for the course.

The moment this is fixed then i can eat my words but till then its simply unacceptable.
Thats what beta testing is for. To sort this out before releasing a game.

You are 100% in the right here. Even if they do “fix” (which they wont anytime soon) the issues, it’s pure evil that they are hard focus to make sure the cash shop is in tip top operating then the play mode itself. You can already notice one of the top fanboys on here who makes every excuse for them and play tech support.

Speaking of games shipped with bugs... that triggered the rant switch in me, lol! So ignore the rest if you are not fond to read a history lesson from the point of view of an old gamer...

Games that shipped with bug can be traced back to the very 1st video game "Pong", so it's been there for the whole gaming history imo... Back in the old days where games are smaller than 4kb in size, there isn't much games that are shipped with bugs... not much, but there's still games with bugs, even back at Atari's age, about 1 out of 8... Then comes the PC era with more complicate looking games on multiple floppy disks which ranged from below 1mb to 5mb in sizes total (Hard Disks are not invented yet), and there's more and more games that are shipped with bugs, some have a "patch" disk that come in their box package to address some "last minute" bugs. When the 20mb HDD finally arrives, packed and install based apps/games started to show and more bugs that comes with them, some games ended up releasing their demo and patch to game magazines just for the ease of distribution (Internet is still not popular back then and only a "concept")... All these games have in-house beta test before release, so it's not that they didn't test it, just that certain bugs couldn't be found unless under a special circumstances like different PC specs or how the user play the games. Then the size went up with CDs, and games that didn't ship with bugs become the rarer ones... PC Magazines that comes with a CD full of different game patches becomes a thing, also beta testers are being applied through these magazines as well, those who "won" the lucky draw get sent a copy of the game. The biggest challenge back then for these old games is that not all users are fond of reading the manuals that come with the box, some rather read the magazines for advice than reading the manual that comes with the game, and 60% of them that doesn't read the manual ended up blaming the game when something doesn't work the way they think how the game should work... Which started the trend about making "tutorials" in-game... and with the internet becoming staple, online patches from official websites become a thing, more and more games are shipped with bugs... especially those that tried to fit in tight schedule release date (so they don't crash with other big titles in the market that could effect their sales). Then come the digital age where games are digitally distributed and devs can do live updates on their games, and game sizes over 1gb become common, so does the bugs that comes with it... again, they did the test in beta, even online beta test with large numbers of players way more than in-house testers numbers... but bugs still happens, up to the point that rarely any games are shipped without bugs nowadays... And there's that "Early Access" trend... which put these bug shipping to their peak imo, up to a point that finding a game that shipped with 0 bug is near miracle... So i wouldn't trust any games to ship without bugs after been through that whole gaming history in my life (I've seen history repeating itself multiple times already, just in different sizes and platform), but those experience honed the "hot fix" skills which can come in handy... (Hot Fix is not the normal Fix from developers, but players' side fix to make unplayable games playable, it's duct-tape territory)

Then there's those live service games, that adds more bugs as they update their games over time... there really isn't 1 online game out there with no bugs nowadays, else it will ended up in topics full of praises imo... and there's that love/hate relationship they had with their players, especially when one can't afford the micro transaction, green eyes started shinning... especially in "free to play" games, these games always tried to separate their community into 1st and 2nd rank citizens to make their paying customer happy and content for the money spent and putting pressure on those who doesn't spend money... "Nothing is more expensive than free" is a famous slang among Japanese traders for centuries, it still holds nowadays imo... In free to play games, those who doesn't spend money pays with their dignity, which may cost more than money imo... So if you're not mentally prepared for such stuffs, it's best to stay away from free to play games for your own sanity's shake. :winkycat:

Well, the easiest way is still the mobile option. But for those who wished to get it to work on the PC, you have to "think mobile" on the control there.

First thing first, don't press on any buttons that may softlock you on the keyboard (restart the game if you're locked out), there's also the zoom in and zoom out that might help you see better and able to position your character better for the quest:

[1] Just press and hold Alt (or Shift depending on your keybinds) to free your mouse cursor once the menu is opened.
[2] Long press (click) the boat placing icon using your mouse as if selecting/picking up an object on the mobile version.
[3] Drag the boat to the location on the screen after it's been picked up, by constantly swiping your mouse and pressing space bar. Might need a few tries to drop the boat, but it's the current known method that works for those with this problem on the PC.

For those who have a mouse tablet (drawing tablet), this works way better than normal mouse. So you might want to try use that too.

Those on a controller shouldn't have the problem imo... but just in case, select the boat in the menu, cast the spell, then press R2 to place the boat.

This method does not actually work.
Devs need to do their jobs and sort this out.

Agreed, this isn’t even beta. “Early access “ is just a term to get people’s to play and not complain about it when things don’t work. But this game has the same issues for years on all platforms. Players shouldn’t be having to go on other platforms just to do a work around. There is a shill on this forum trying its best to keep players from leaving.
