I think I have to enter through a passage near a treehouse in the rainy area but its blocked off saying I need a spirit to open it or something???

Passed all the gates in the 1st forest area and enter the 2nd area, in this 2nd map, go a little bit straight and you will see a small roofed area with plants to burns at its sides, turn right from there and look straight (slightly upward) and you should see the gate to the Elevated Clearing(required 8 spirits found in forest). After that, look for the hollowed tree (on your left side, near the broken bridge) and go inside, there's a floor that required 2 players to jump on to break, break that and fall down and you will reach the quest area (Underground Caverns).

Route 2:
Go all the way to the map before entering the temple in the forest. Somewhere around the 1st bridge, look right and fly up the small hole in the cliff, walk deeper and you will see a gate to the Elevated Clearing(required 8 spirits found in forest). After that, set the bridge up and go pass it, look for the hollowed tree (this time on your right side), enter it and break the floor with another player to reach the Underground Cavern.

Route 3:
From the Elevated Clearing, there's actually 2 ways linked to the Underground Caverns, one is the 2 player co-op floor that you need to break, the other is the gate located on the opposite side of the hollowed tree. It's a one way entrance (unsure if you can enter it when another player came through it). But even if you get to enter from this gate, it puts you far far away from the quest circle you need to find. So not recommended.

Route 4:
This one might be a bit confusing (only recommended for veteran), there's a wind path that leads you directly into the quest area (Underground Cavern), but you will need to fly up high then down again to reach the quest circle.

Route 5:
Those who owned the "HIDDEN PORTAL OF THE FOREST PIN"[thatskyshop.com] from ThatSkyShop can teleport directly to this area, friends holding hands gets to teleport with them.

You need to get to that area with the big bridge in the middle that has the clouds underneath it. You have to activate the bridge first to see it. There's sun in the middle of the area with no rain. On the left side once you hit the start of the bridge, there's a tree with a hole in it. In there you need two players to do the stomp emote you get from another area (prairie caves I think? Pouting guy) Then you fall in and can explore that whole area, and do the aurora quest. You may also get lucky and find a memory share that someone did using a camera, that will open the door for you. Or chibi fall if you have that thing unlocked.

To get to that area you have to have all 8 spirits from a different zone first.

Are you talking about the bridge that takes me to the elder temple? The one I have to fix that stops the rain and summons the jellyfish?
