First winged light did not spqawn for my friend

My friend just started playing and when getting to the first main area, the winged flight that's supposed to spawn there, didnt for them essentialy softlocking the game. Anyone else had a similiar issue?

It's sort of a glitch or intended bug that let the player choose not to get the wing light and live through the game as a "wingless", a self challenge mode. So your friend might have chosen not to grab the light?

The other possibility is that your friend already visited it once and have gotten it already? Since he's new he can't tell the difference and thought it's missing? You can only grab each wing lights once, they will not return until you lost them either to Eden or the hazards in the game.

The new player experience has been changed. They are grounded until they get past the spirit gate and up to pride rock, then there is another winged light which appears after the temple (which sadly many players seem to miss). It seems to go back to the old position only after the first trip through isle. I think this is also the source of the wing shown on the isle map which nobody can collect; both wings exist, but one is hidden for each player.
