black screen when typing in chat on Linux

Hi, so i have been playing this on Manjaro Linux (Desktop PC), and my Steam Deck with SteamOS. On the steam deck, when i chat, the keyboard pops up and i can see what i am typing. On my desktop however, when i go to bring up the chat window, My entire screen goes black, and i can't see anything. I can still type and reply to other people, but it's just weird. My system is running a Nvidia RTX 3080, and i am using Proton-GE 15 as my compatibility layer in steam. Anyone else having this issue on Linux? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I was having the same problem on proton experimental and saw on protondb that someone solved it by using an older version of proton. I don't have the problem anymore on proton 8

when i change the compatibility to Proton 8.05, i cant run the game. how can i fix this?
i tried delete cache but it stil not working

Try running the game on all the older proton version, maybe one will work for you
