Sky: Children of the Light

Sky: Children of the Light

I am in an infinite loop where the game always crashes
I started the fifth quest from the Season of Duets (the one where you am to invite other spirtis to the concert), then clicked on F to do an action during the cutscene because I thought I had to do it. But then the game crashed at the third spirit and now, every time I launch the game it immediately starts with the cutscene, and it always crashes with the third spirit. i tried deleting my account, join another server or putting my computer on plane mode, but it still crashes and I already got two blue screen. I sent a report on the official Discord server, but I still want to know if someone faced the same problem and if there is a solution ?

Thank in advance for those who will answer and have a nice day :)

The season of Duets ended on September 29th.

The current season is season of Moomin.

The quests of (at least some of) the past seasons remain available at the respective guides, they just have to be found at their respective season locations rather than Home.

I remember we had crashes on the second Duets quest, and TGC had to push out an emergency fix of sorts, something like disabling Festival tech… I don't think that's something you can do yourself, but here's the discussion: https://steamcommunity.com/app/2325290/discussions/0/4515506143569785527/

I doubt it's the same issue though, IIRC inviting spirits does not invoke Festival tech anyway?..

I'll poke around when I have the time, but I'm not hopeful

As something of a shot in the dark, try opening Sky's properties within Steam and disabling Steam overlay, maybe that helps. If it doesn't, turn it back on and… hope, I suppose.

I just assumed when a season had concluded that was it.

You get the extra candles and it's over.

I tried what you told me but it didn't work.

I will start a new account on my Switch and see if the same thing happens, so I'll see if it was pressing the F button that crashed the game. Since I haven't seen someone that got the same problem, I suppose this is the cause.

Still, thank you very much for your answer and trying to help me :)

It used to be the case back in 2020, yes. The only glimpses of past seasonal content came in form of traveling spirits.

But TGC changed things up during my extended break from The Little Prince until Revival, and now the quests and spirits remain when their season ends. Their cosmetics are no longer unlockable unless a spirit comes back as a traveling one, but stories and locations you can now explore from nearly all seasons at any time.

Though this change seems to be an afterthought and you can sometimes see leftovers like the guide teleport function that can't be accessed from anywhere, because the guide is only in their seasonal location now. It's also entirely possible that quests of the past seasons are not well tested.

Past seasonal quests have been playable since 2020, starting with Enchantment.
