Companion Cube Item on the Steam Deck.

Hello, so I've recently discovered the Companion Cube is a purchasable item for Sky and planned on grabbing it. Unfortunately, while I can see the stack while playing on the Steam Deck it won't allow me to purchase them. Is it exclusively purchasable only on the PC version of Steam or can you simply not buy them at this time? Thanks for reading and for any help you can give on this matter!

JFYI Steam Deck is a PC, so the Steam Deck version is the PC version.
And as far as I know, there's no time limit for its availability.
The only reasons I can think of for it to not be there would be:
1. You already bought it and forgot about it
2. A bug ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It has to be a bug.

I hopped on my deck and looked. There isn't any pop ups when I go near the cubes.

Never purchased one before so It's most likely a bug.

yes the companion cube is a permanent item only available to get on PC. My guess is #1, or #2.

@OP Take note the Steam Deck isn't officially supported yet as far as I'm aware.

I've been playing exclusively on the Steam Deck, and you can definitely get it while playing on one. That said, they recently moved the Journey mannequin in front of the pile of Companion Cubes, making it harder to interact with it. Luckily, you can use the Steam Deck's touch screen to tap the little diamond that appears on the pile, even if the mannequin is highlighted.

Steam Deck is in a slightly weird position of not being officially supported by TGC, but at the same time officially verified by Steam. So-o… as far as we know, the game should be fully functional as on any PC.

If you're still having this issue, the prompt to buy the cube is not actually on the cube stack. It is on the Journey outfit model character. Run up to them and move your camera around until a bubble with a question mark appears instead of the present box, and it should be in there. I've found that is shows up when you position your camera behind them. Hope this helps.

i just finished saving candles to buy the companion cube and when i got to the store i realised that!!
unfortunately i dont have a steam deck, just my pc... is there any way to interact and buy or do i just have to stare at the stack from different angles and hope for the best?

That's correct. Just move around until you see the icon, it's a bit of a pain but you'll get it.

Gonna be honest I completely forgot I posted this because a friend showed me in-game how by looking around the journey display the morning after. But, I'm so glad to see this helped a few others! Continue being fantastic everyone!

thanks a lot, i already tried a couple of times but i haven't been able to get it yet, hope i manage to find the right angle soon

If you stand behind the Journey mannequin slightly to the left or right, it should show up! The icon will change from a present to sparkles. Hope that helps!
