Shard events only gives one candle?

The last three regular candle events I have had seemed bugged.

Two where I only got two candles each.

And this last one, I only got a single candle.

I was at 20 candles and after burning darkness, the new total is 21?

I'm not at the limit, I'm still at 2 Chevrons.
Why only a single candle?

yesterday again I only got one candle.

Today I was at 39 candles and After the shard event the new today was 40.

According to this, Shard events give out more.

Black shard gives 4 candle cakes worth of Light, which is 200 pieces of light (aka wax), it hasn't changed as far as we know.

You mentioned that you're at 2 Chevron. Which requires 139 wax to forge a candle.
according to the wiki[sky-children-of-the-light.fandom.com].

I don't know how much you have started of with but assuming that you started of with empty candle meter and at 2 chevron, the 200 wax is only able to forge 1 candle, with like 61 wax remaining for the next candle.

As for the cases for case where you managed to get 2 - 3 candles.
That will happen when you at 3 chevron where you can get a candle for 94 wax. that's 2 candles from the shard event alone.
