CARRYING OVER YOUR EXISTING SAVE DATA TO STEAM
PICKING UP WHERE YOU LEFT OFF ON OTHER CONSOLES

If you're like me and you've already played the game on Switch or somewhere else but you've never played on Steam before EA release today, THIS IS SUPER IMPORTANT!! There's a chance there are ways around this but with the EA launch on steam being so new, not enough people I know have tested it to be 100% sure and its probably to be better safe, than sorry. Dont potentially get yourself locked out of carrying over your data for 30 days like a few of my friends already did.

So the game DOES offer Cross Platform Play AND Progression for PlayStation 4/5, Switch, Steam, AND Mobile. HOWEVER:

YOU CAN NOT LINK YOUR ACCOUNTS FOR CROSS PROGRESSION IN-GAME VIA CONSOLE OR PC.

YOU CAN ONLY LINK ACCOUNTS ON MOBILE BEFORE LAUNCHING AND PLAYING THE GAME SOMEWHERE ELSE.

So basically, the only way to link the game for cross progression is the mobile game app on your phone BEFORE STARTING THE GAME ON STEAM. If you start playing on Steam without linking first, Steam will create a brand new account and auto link it to to your Steam Account and you'll have to wait out the 30 day relink penalty time period to get do the link properly before playing again to get your save data carried over. (IF YOUVE NEVER PLAYED ON MOBILE BE SURE THAT YOU SELECT "Sign In Methods" AT THE BOTTOM OF THE HOME SCREEN, NOT THE PLAY BUTTON, OR YOULL DO THE SAME THING TO YOURSELF ON MOBILE)

So if you have already played the game somewhere else, BEFORE playing on another platform, download the app on your phone and link your accounts. Or if you play on Steam for the first time and like it then go to play on your Switch later, same thing applies.

If youre new to the game in general and are like, oh well I dont care if theyre separate, I do not recommend leaving them separated because if you make in-game purchases with IRL money (which most of us will at SOME POINT down the line, you want them to carry over. Not have to buy them twice.

Thanks for coming to my ted talk, if this changes or something comes out that proves this wrong please let me know. Just trying to make sure no one gets a big Ol' Heap of disappointment on EA launch week.

Happy Flying :FFXIIImog:

How would I go about relinking?

You can only do it on Mobile and unlink only works if you don't have a purchase history on the account you wished to unlink. Also, do not login using Facebook account, because that one is bugged and you won't be able to unlink any account while logged in using Facebook.

To unlink your Steam, you just need to login Steam account On the mobile version and link a dummy account to it. After that you should be able to unlink it, provided you don't have purchase history on your Steam account. After you unlinked the account, you can link to to any existing account as normal, again, on the mobile version only.

Worked like a charm! Thank you very much. :)

You don't have to wait for the 30 days, you can just unlink it on the mobile. The 30 days i believe is for those requesting to "delete" their account.
