Can't receive candles from the other players

Playing on PC since april. Recently my friend (who plays on PS5) spend all his candles on our friendship tree, but I didn't get any of them! Since then I can't receive candles from the other players at all. My balance just doesn't change!
Pls help.

i'm having the same issue, except i'm never getting candles from exchanges. i'm not sure if it's just that every player i meet is on a different platform? that would be weird though.

Uh-h, what do you mean by receiving candles from other players?
I was under the impression that giving candles isn't possible, only spending them on shared unlocks or sending a heart once per day per friend…

You can send lights/hearts to another player and they to you no matter the platform. Only by accumulating enough lights then it will turn into 1 heart. There's a known bug happening back when the OP is posting this and it's acknowledged by one of the dev suggesting players with candles problem to contact the in-game support. Although it should be fixed by now, but if you're still experiencing the problem, it's advised to contact the player support.

Receiving lights through the constellation accumulates hearts, not candles. And each light is a tiny amount, like 1/60th each, which is easy to mistake for no change.

Yup that, sorry for the confusion. You can send candles to other players through the gifting option.
