why do i have to wait 3 days to give a friend a season pass gift ?

Well, "Account Hold" is a known practice for security and safety reason to prevent fraud and scam, and in Sky's case, irrational gifting. Like some forums, social media or even banks, the 3~7 days is used as a buffer zone to reduce the amount of new accounts made for fraud practice, both on the users and the seller side. And reduce the workload on customer service when it comes to such complains.

Plus hard coded program will not know about your real life episodes and only do its jobs as coded.

what about them being on my steam friend list for like 14 years? maybe the entire 15 as theyre the one who got me to sign up in the first place

Since you've been playing games for 15 years on Steam you should know that most friend list in MMO and Steam's own friend list are separated and the data belongs to different companies right? In this case, TGC and Valve.

Steam may have let game company access to your Steam Friendlist through API including the info on how long you've been friends (if you didn't set to private), but that only applies to games that integrated Steam friend list into their games, not on games with stand alone friend list.

Though TGC promise of adding such features in the future, currently it's not there yet, so it still counts the days from the friend list inside the game, not Steam.

ok so after "beating" the game and getting an ascended candle i was able to upgrade my friendship chart further and gift the season pass today instead of in 3 days

The friendship tree upgrade unlocks the ability to buy cosmetic for your friends. Not sure about the hold lifting on season pass though... because the last time i used that feature it still requires you to at least befriended the guy you gift for more than 3 days before you can do that. So i can't give it to strangers right away...

Idk i bought the gift pack a little under 24 hours ago basically when i made this thread, told me wait 3 days then i leveled the friend ship tree 4 hours ago and instead of saying wait 3 days it let me gift it

Oh no, the limit is the time you befriended your friend, not the time of the package you bought, you can gift it right away at the time of purchase if your friend is more than 3 days old in your friend list...

Also, you don't have to rush and gift out all the gift pass you have, they don't expire, you can keep it and exchange it with another player for the next season.

You can lift another limit and become able to buy cosmetic for that friend if you progress into the friend list and unlock the shop thingy... But i don't think that one will lift the limit on the Season Pass...

Probably progressing in the friendship tree expedite that...? Will need to try that out with some new friends before I can be sure of it though...
Or could be a bug... won't be surprise since this game is full of them creepy crawlers... lol
