And as far as Linux is concerned, I've seen reports from people happily playing on a Steam Deck without any mention of meddling with the settings. So… it should "just work", assuming nothing else is in the way?
The aforementioned "community theory" is that the game requires a CPU with an AVX2 instruction set. FX 8350 doesn't have it.
Now, I mention this is a "community theory", meaning there's no definite official confirmation for it. However:
So there's a bit of a split here where some will tell you to upgrade, some will tell you to demand AVX2 requirement be patched out or at least officially confirmed.
I really should create a dedicated thread about this before another confrontation on the subject begins here too 😁
There are a few precedents with other games where such a requrement was patched out (I only remember Uncharted out of those), the same thing might happen here.
