Hello! Thank you very much for responding. So I rest assured that it is a "false positive". Recently there was another small 14mb update that apparently worked since it did not cause problems with the antivirus. Thank you so much!
To be honest, players having this problem won't feel safe doing the exclusion option for Sky on their antivirus software ( some of us have even met or interacted with players hacking the game ). This is a concern especially for the players paying with their money for IAP.
In the meantime, I think it is best not to give suggestion regarding excluding the app in the AVs until it is fixed for security reasons too.
Agreed. Sadly this company doesn’t listen (act on) to their beta testers and don’t do any quality checks for each update. It’s concerning that if they can miss this, what other security holes are they missing that they don’t know about. I wouldn’t be surprised if there is an RCE exploit which is dangerously an issue.
It’s a false positive.
People getting this issue are overprotecting their system. The only diference betwen a paid av or a free one is the pais one having more filters, giving more false positives over a free AV like malearebytes or windows defender, those scan for viruses and potential security risk only.
People can stop playing if they want, but there is no point since there is no trojan or virus
This has to be fixed since most new players will not want to play when this happens. Its a huge inconvenience and worry that players don’t need to second guess about.
I downloaded the game because it looks very good and reminds me of journey, but after seeing the warning pop-up, I uninstalled it again.
Because I tried it and it worked.
"We've received reports that some PC players are having issues with their antivirus blocking the most recent Sky update due to a software protection feature we use. The team is working to prevent this from happening in future updates. In the meantime, players should be able to create an exclusion for Sky in their antivirus dashboard in order to download the update and play.
We apologize for the inconvenience! Thank you for reporting the issue to us."
Today once again, I installed it to play and came across a virus alert.
I read several posts on the subject and honestly... I'm going to use this post as an example: the first message here was posted by Jano on May 23rd at 5:57 pm. Today is July 14th, but 30 days have passed and the devs' solution is, you can authorize my virus, no problem. No corrections were made.
Do you trust that much to allow this on your machines?
Well, as a new player, I uninstalled it and I don't intend to play anymore. And you should do the same. False positive or not, the problem is there. Nothing has been done, and will not be done, as long as we players continue to accept the negligence of game companies.
