I'm having difficulty starting Sky, my Windows is on version 22h2 and I'm getting this error

Have you updated your OS build to the latest 1904?

Also, 6.2.9200 means Windows 8 Build 9200, did you run the game on Windows 8 compatibility mode? Try right click the game's .exe files and uncheck the Compatibility mode option and try again.

I don't know what user above is talking about, this game doesn't even use python, and the error is caused by compatibility mode.

Right click the Steam shortcut > properties > compatibility > turn off compatibility mode for windows 8

Check both Steam.exe in your steam installed folder, and Sky.exe on your sky installed folder.

Right folks, I found the answer. So! You want to go into the Steam library, hover on the sky game icon, and right-click. Next, go into the installed files section and click on browse so that you can get into the game folder's location. From there, you will see the game files, and you will see the game EXE icon in its full glory. click it once, then right-click to show its extra settings. You would then want to click on properties and it will show you a bunch of options. the one you will click on is compatibility. Ensure that nothing is clicked on, and once you do, click on the box that says "run this program as an administrator." after that. hit apply, okay, and exit out. Voila! you have fixed the game...at least...it worked for me. i hope it does for you too!

Run it from Steam, not directly.
If you already are, that would be a different problem now, not sure which one.
