The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog

The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog

My name was inappropriate!?!?
My name is Michelle, which has the word hell in it, so I couldn't use my real name :(( Thats ok tho, I just spelled it with 1 L instead of two!

it has hell in it.
Meanwhile the game was fine with my character being named Bawbag. :coolendo:

You can mis-spell your name with the same number of letters*, open up the save file in something like notepad++, and edit it. There are two spots to change, the name that appears in the Load Menu, and your actual name.

That's how I'm playing as "Murderer". They'll never suspect me.

*not sure if it's necessary, but if there are any counted offsets in the save file this will preserve them.

this game's name censorship is comical. why does it even need name censorship! it's SINGLEPLAYER!

Good question, like why is the game stopping me from naming my guy the "R" word? I'm not gonna upload my clear time on leaderboards or interact with other people in real time or anything, why would Sega care for names I pick for characters I play as in a single player offline game?

Unfortunately this is becoming more commonplace, you'd have more luck changing your real name than changing censorship policy, might as well use an alias. Even in games where it is relevant, all it does is make sport of finding workarounds to use various slurs as usernames.
