Is Sam Gay?
As I went through the story and heard all the journals, I couldn't help but notice that Sam (Katie's younger sister who lives at the house in the game) seems to have an inclination to women and one in paticular (the one she mentions often in her journal's, Lonnie).

The story seemed to be a generic 'romance that mother and father don't approve of', but past that, I get the impression there might be another dimension to the tale.

Thoughts?

You clearly haven't found all of the journal pages...

By the way, there is a spoiler-heavy discussions subforum you can use for questions such as these.

Fascinating. I mean, it's so subtle, how could anyone notice?
What would make you think otherwise?

While we're going through subtle works of art, I was playing Fallout and I think to myself, I think, "Hey, I bet something happened before the start of the game to make the world like this." Anyone else pick up on that?

Thanks for spoiling the movie for me, jerk! I was wondering why there wasn't a sequel when the first one did such big box office.

That's kinda the point of this game. Bored white middle-class teenager finds herself a girlie.
Or something like that.
Feelz are too much much to handle, I don't even.
I can't even anymoe

The only character in this game who had an interesting story was the father. Molested by his uncle, they never speak to the uncle again, uncle pleads for forgiveness and goes unheard, dies and leaves the mansion to the nephew perhaps for penance.

The father struggles with his job as a reviewer because he longs for a career in fiction writing (particularly in the JFK vein.) His father (Sam's grandfather) is aloof and basically disparages everything his son does. On top of all this, a struggling marriage with his wife who has eyes for a coworker. So they go off to marriage counseling to try and save the marriage.

So what does their youngest daughter do? Steal their ♥♥♥♥ and run off with some chick she's known for a couple months because she feels oppressed that they grounded her to think about this situation. And we're supposed to feel sympathy for this girl? She's a terrible daughter and a worse sister for leaving this state of affairs for her return from Europe in the form of cryptic notes.

Plot twist: "Sam" is actually a split personality the character you control developed to help come to terms with her herself being gay. She's also in the army and returning home from being deployed in Europe where she went on a top secret mission to kill her grandfather who molested the horse she used to ride as a child.

With how obvious it is i'm surprised you didn't realize it right away.

Of course! It's so obvious! And the house is a construct of the fractured psyche of the mother's lost dreams of success manifested via her husband's father's permenant LSD trip. But how was the rain psychicly summoned to the box in the New Mexico desert that is the portal to the house's school principals unpublished cheese wheel of perminant lagrangian Karlin-esque fortitude? Roll reflex save.
