"Stare" and "Scrutinize"

Can anybody enlighten me about the two images in Sam's room? I've stared and stared but I still have no idea what I'm supposed to be seeing.

you need to cross your eyes. like looking at oculus rift footage on youtube. a 3d image will pop out.

You don't cross your eyes, you diverge them... try to have each eye look "straight", independent of each other, without focusing on anything in particular. It's very easy once you get the hang of it. You don't even need magic eye pictures to do it. try practicing on anything that has structured repeating patterns, like bathroom tiles, etc.

This post made me feel old. These things were stupidly popular when I was a teenager and I never once saw the damn image. Only thing I got out of it was a headache.

Try focusing on a point "past" the image.

Eye crossing actually does work, I don't know why people would say it doesn't.

Right there with you! LOL I remember sitting in the library at school and they had books of these things. I even remember one technique of putting your nose to the page and moving your head back away from the picture and HOLY CRAP ITS A BOAT!!!

if you cross your eyes and connect 2 of the same object in your vision, it creates 3d images or outlines of things. i used to do them when i was younger.
