Screamers/Jump Scares
Are there any Screamers or Jumpscares in this game? I was looking to buy it as it seems like just a great mystery/exploration game.

No, there aren't.

You're getting it on sale, right? Because this game is fairly short, and there may be less of a mystery than you expect, too. (Lots to explore, though.)

Quoting myself:
Should you buy Gone Home ?
Buy this if you...
...like stories.
...like to explore.
...like short games (1-3 hours).
Buy this on sale.
Don't buy this if you...
...are looking for challenges of logic or skill.
...are unsympathetic to LGBT issues.
...don't like teen drama as a genre.
These points address the most frequent complaints voiced on this forum.
That said, I really loved Gone Home.

Variant, I already explained to you that exploring a house and having it explored for you isn't a similar experience at all, especially when exploration is the main game mechanic.

Its more like an easter egg hunt but instead of easter eggs you are looking for pieces of plot development.

If you don't like teen drama, you won't like it.

There is one moment that can act as a jumpscare for those not acclimatised to horror games (at least it did startle me :P).
The one where you go in the hidden tunnel, find the creepy notice on the wall about the ghost, and the lightbulb pops out in that exact moment D:

Yeah, the creepy part for me was turning on the lights in the dark rooms and the occasional accidentally well-timed thunder outside :D

Next time when you play it try starting with all the lights turned on (it's an option in the new game menu iirc), it helped on my 2nd playthrough :D
