I have a 7.1.2 sound bar that supports Dolby Atmos and the voices can barely be heard and alot of the atmospheric/environmental sounds cannot be heard or at a very low volume or just plain not coming in. I have re downloaded the game since the lastest patch and still is broken.

I have configured the sound options in game too and tried every option mono, speaker, surround and all do the same for me.

Yeah, its spectacularly awful, especially for a game of this caliber...I have 7.2.6 setup, and this game is hard to play with it...I'm not sure how Sony could accept this...
I see what you mean. Volume level seems much lower when using Atmos. As a workaround I set audio to 7.1 in Windows and it seems louder.
Too bad it's a pain in the ass to select 7.1 on Windows 11, since it doesn't show up in the speaker settings...need to go back to the old control panel "Sound" settings...many clicks...I hate that sort of effort for a game that really should just work.
Still feels weird...most dialogue sounds like it's coming out of the front right speaker...generally I hear sounds from all speakers...was it this bad on the PS5? I should go back and check...

EDIT: Playing through the intro chase on PS5, it's so much better. One interesting thing is, the audio settings on the PS5 have it set to TV(3D Audio), but on PC the only option is surround, which says optimized for 5.1 and 7.1...so it's almost like it isn't meant for Atmos (even though it switches my AVR to Dolby Atmos once in the game...)

The PC version just isn't worth playing, even with 144Hz in 4k, at this time...and probably never will be. Will need to pay attention to who Sony gets to port their games in the future...I've generally been okay, though it took forever for them to make Last of Us right, and apparently even longer for them to make GoW Ragnarok right.

It works perfectly on my setup for PS5, PC is broken though.

Apparently a skeleton crew of devs were dropped on the PC port like 7 - 13 people. Digital Foundry mentioned the size of the team in one of their analysis vids of the PC port.

Has this been fixxed yet?
Just started playing the game for the first time and it's still broken.
Came here hoping to find a fix but besides disabling Atmos spiritual audio. There is no true fix yet.....
