Once you unblock the dam you'll have access to them via the boat.

i did that but i cant seem to find a path towards the sinkholes that dosent require using the zipline. the boating area in there only leads to paths that are gated off and every rover in the jungle takes me back to the crater, which dosent have any river passages leading to the blocked off area of the sinkholes
