Is PSN still required to play the game? My friend from Serbia really wants to play it, but for some reason it's still not available at her store.

It's no longer required, but like with Helldivers 2, they don't sell the game in regions PSN doesn't support (even if the requirement's been pulled). Which is a strange decision.

You could go onto a key site like Kinguin and find either a region-free or EU key. But that's a gamble sometimes.
