Steam Deck Remote Play not working
I'm streaming the game from my pc to the Steam Deck but there's no input. The controllers are basically not responding.

I've been playing Ghost of Tsushima and it's working fine but with God of War Ragnarok it won't simply recognize any input from my Steam Deck.

Does any one knows how to fix this?

Hello everyone,

I found a workaround for the issue. Here are the steps to follow to make Remote Play work:

1. Do not launch God of War (GOW) initially, this is a key point.
2. Start a controller on your PC (I’m using an Xbox controller in my case).
3. Launch GOW (either from your PC or from the Steam Deck). When the game starts, it will detect an active controller and will automatically enable Steam Input.
4. If not already done, start the game on the Steam Deck in Remote Play.
5. Once the game is visible on the Steam Deck, turn off your controller. When the controller is off, Steam Input will switch from the Xbox controller to the next available one: the Steam Deck's built-in controller.
6. Enjoy!

I hope this helps! Let me know if it works for you.

Having this same issue on the Lenovo legion go. Disabled steam input for Xbox controller but it still doesn’t work.

I’ve also been playing horizon forbidden west and ghost of Tsushima via remote play to the legion go with no issues.

Yeah =( this sucks. I'm yet to find a solution to this issue.

The exact same thing is happening with Space Marine 2. Meanwhile Ghost of Tsushima and The Plucky Squire are working perfectly on remote play.

Please, warn me if you find a solution.

I launched ragnarok and got it to work one time and played for about an hour and a half. Not sure what I did to get it to work. The next time I attempted to launch it the legion go controller wasn't recognized again. Relaunched several times to no avail.

If I find a solid solution I will let you know. There doesn't seem to be many threads on this. I guess us remote players are few in numbers.

Try Sunshine + Moonlight. It's better for Remote play anyway

I may eventually try that but so far I had a good experience with Remote Play streaming from my pc to the Steam Deck. I've finished the Metro trilogy and I'm almost done with Ghost of Tsushima.

I still don't know why it won't recognize any input from the Steam Deck on God of War Ragnarok and Space Marine 2.

FYI I tried remote play again today and it is recognizing the game pad. I didn't do anything to get it to work. Maybe try again on the steam deck.

=/ everything is the same here.
Ghost of Tsushima is working fine but there's no input while streaming God of War Ragnarok and Space Marine 2 :steamsad:

Well who knows if it will work the next time I play. Will keep you posted. I tried the Sunshine + Moonlight option, but it didn't recognize the game pad on my legion go.

Same issue. Everything up to date, same network.
Trying to remote play to my Steam Deck OLED. Launches without an issue, but controller doesn't work.
I have a sneaking suspicion that the Playstation Overlay launch is not letting the Remote Play controller hook into the game.

It could be that but I'm facing the exact same issue with Space Marine 2. I'm afraid the problem is elsewhere.

Yesterday, out of nowhere God of War Ragnarok worked on the Steam Deck using Remote Play lol I swear I did nothing.
But today it isn't working again.
I'm clueless.

Wtf is going on? :steamfacepalm:

It works at random. I also managed to get it to work, but it suddenly stopped.

Any workarounds?
