It does not drift in other games or naturally. Only in this game. It can be in the menu, in photomode, or moving Kratos and the controller will continue to drift after I let go of the stick. It will have continued momentum that either dies naturally or is stopped when I move the stick again in a different direction.
It's very inconsistent.
I tried mouse and keyboard and found it counter-intuitive navigating the menu. The mouse control doesn't translate well.

Fix is : go to steam > parameters > controller -> enable steam input for xbox controller
TY this fixed it for me. And as a bonus i have playstation button prompts as well now. great!
But when i launch the game once in a while, Kratos is turning around, ready to launch his axe.
It seems that some buttons of my XBOX controller are "pressed" continually... I can pause the game but the button A or B doesn't work... The only temporary fix is to disconnect and reconnect the controller. But it wasn't bugging before the last update...
Thanks! Big help. Works like a charm.
