FPS drop drastically at the Tree/Door Travel area
I am playing with max settings at 120 fps constant but fps is dropping drastically when in the World Tree Travel area which you access via the doors provided by the dwarf brothers. FPS dropping to 40-50 there. Anyone else?

This is happening even if I lower my settings to mid.

Yes the travel area is strangely more demanding than the realm world, I'm on 4080 anyway, it can brute force to maintain 60 fps on that area without problem, you should try DLSS on lower mode like balance to see if it help.

likely volumetric fog with lighting effects. It really doesnt matter though because its literally you doing nothing till the door pops up lol.

They should provide a patch fix for this. Though we aren't doing anything there but that much fps lag really annoying and also affecting my recording.

Most probably but at this point, we all have m.2, this lag should not be happening I think.

Have you tried to lower Tessellation to Medium (or even low) ? For some unknown reason, this single setting seems to have a massive impact (way more than it should) on framerate in areas after you leave midgard.

Try it before relying on frame gen or lowering any other settings, it worked for me and some other players.
I guess it depends on your setup, but I dropped from 120 to 80-90 in the world tree (and the next area), went back to 120 capped after lowering tesselation to medium.

Not ideal, but it's worth a try.

You're right, after I lower tessellation to medium the game doesn't use that much GPU in that area any more, seem like a bug, other areas run file with tessellation at ultra.

Same here, on RTX4090. There is almost 35-40% frame drop there.

It's a loading screen you can move around in.
