yeah seriously its just ridiculous the entire game runs perfectly for me except that area.

It's always going to be the most demanding part of the game, it's essentially a loading screen while you are in another area. As quickly as it can the game has to unload the area you were just in while loading in a new one so it's a fully loaded 1 are and partially loaded 2 for most of your time in there.

Having a very fast drive seems to help bu it it's always going to be the worst performance there.

It has to be one of the graphics settings. I initially had all of my settings set to Ultra on my 4080 (expect for shadows which was on medium) and that area had noticeable performance issues. But once I changed everything to high, it ran flawlessly and without a discernible loss in visual quality

I'm too lazy to find out which setting did it. i recommend just setting everything to High for higher-end systems

It's tesselation. When above medium, tesselation starts tanking your framerate in this area (and some others, but mostly this one).

Why not ultra with 4080?

It's a wrongdoing for that GPU :D
