PSN - Credit Card info ?

OK i kinda want to get this game but just wanted to ask because i've seen other people say all kinds of stuff on this forum.

Does PSN's website really ask for credit card info when you make a new account ?

No, I literally just made one even though I have one already (used different Email).
It asked my birthdate, an email, and password. That's it.
However; more PS games on PC I am all for, more runaround BS with other apps and junk I'm not.

Sorry forgot to ask something, because you mentioned that you used a different email.

Aren't we required to use the same email that we have on Steam ?

I mean can we use 2 different emails if we need to link Steam and PSN ?

PSN got hacked like years ago and it happened multiple times - personally i'm not thrilled about the idea of making an account for a SINGLE PLAYER GAME and i'm sure at least half the people on this forum aren't either.

They literally investigated 1 in 2017 and 1 in 2023 - did you not READ what i linked ?

Let's say it happens again just for the sake of argument, let's say it happens in 2025 or 2026 and it's a major breach.

Are you really 100% CERTAIN that your Steam account info will be saved ?

Easy fix don't enter your credit card details.
When you buy PlayStation games anyway you go buy a ps network card with money on anyway.
if your that scared create a throwaway email to make that psn account.

Oh i am not putting my credit card info, actually i am not sure it will even ask for it.

And no i do not buy PS network cards becasue i don't own a console and probably never will - PC4LIFE

But i just don't want to use the email i got on Steam - that's why im asking : are we actually REQUIRED to use the same one to link Steam with PSN or not ?

Doesn't Steam and Xbox store also ask for credit card info? Why is it that whenever Sony does something everyone wants to get mad about it but when Xbox does it, it's somehow okay?

Exactly, unless you use the Pre Paid cards, all three main gaming platforms ask for this information, it's how you buy games....even how you buy things online, Paypal asks for this info, any online site like Amazon or Ebay ask for parts of that info when making a purchase
