Swapping interact and evade is not working in-game

So i am using a xbox controller and have steam input for xbox controllers turned off in my settings as it sometimes mess up the in-game controls , but when i am in game and go to controller overlay using (Shift+tab) there are 2 sections showing to enable steam input and another showing disable steam input , don't know how the game is forcing steam input even though i turned it off

Now when i swap interact and evade , it works sometimes and it gets reverted back to old controls most of the time although the button prompts are swapped , so this is very annoying .

Any way to fix this please let me know , Thank You

Happened to me as well, swapped A and B round in the options but then kept dying at the beginning of the game on the dog sled, nothing would respond no matter what I pressed. Swapped the buttons back around and was fine again, must be a bug

I have also have steam input disabled but never checked the overlay to see if anything was amiss to be honest

Yeah its very wierd , can u please check and let me know , or if u find any fixes
