Thor isnt fat, He has a beer belly. Also keep in mind Thor during this time is a very broken, depressed man. By the end of the game he becomes the god of lighting that he should always been. I really loved the look and story for him. We need a whole standalone game with him.

I mean thats just how they have always been, People love to pick and choose at what to get mad at but ignore literally everything else. its why ignore all the drama from both sides and just play games like a normal person.

I am not a woke/DEI supporter at all, but it is accurate based on the original description for what I have seen, and that specific situation even makes sense if you look at any of strongest man competitions, many of the competitors are arguably "fat", look for Brian Shaw or Eddie Hall for instance during such competitions for reference.

So there a things that make sense, other do not, specially if they come from DEI directives.
