Maybe they did better color grading in 2018? Or something - because 2018 looks absolutely beautiful, I couldn't even believe my eyes. Like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥'s a gorgeous game. And Ragnarok somehow doesn't feel that way. It has great graphics for sure, but 2018 is just prettier.
I noticed similar difference in Forza 4 & 5. While 5 clearly has more detail, 4 still looks more realistic and pretty somehow. I don't understand why this is, but my eyes clearly prefer watching Forza 4 and GOW 2018 for some reason.
It is inferior since it's missing some aspects from the original game. It's just a lazy port since PC hardware is years ahead of console. That's the objective truth, you can check the Digital Foundry analysis as well. Audio is also lower for some reason. Lazy port from Sony.
Maybe check your own sources next time xD
The missing effects and tesselation issues are most likely bugy that will get fixed.
And other than that the DF video praises the port extensively, so no real food for your ragebait.
And btw. there is no objective truth with subjective adjectives like "inferior" or "lazy".
Go back to class and learn what all those big words mean you like to use.

Thx for sharing this article... was a really interesting read to say the least and am glad the Jetpack folks are honest about their approach on what they did with respect to things like texture decompression and VRAM usage.
As a game dev myself this was really a very interesting learning for me on how things were done in terms of optimization especially as that is one of the hardest parts of game development where it has to scale and work correctly with varying configurations.
I do hope that they find solutions for the stuff pointed out by the DF folks which were missing in the PC version at launch and are able to get those addressed in a patch... I do like the commitment, honesty and clarity that they do want to deliver a polished product but certain roadblocks meant that everything couldnt be achieved in time.
Not worth the wait. The game looks and plays just fine. Yeah some reflections are missing but you will not even notice if you dont do a side by side anyway. But you do you pal.
I have no concern I'm just sharing my opinion based on your message. I have the game already so I don't care lol
