Freya's curse

Just started the game. Freya said explicitly in the previous game that Odin had cursed her so she could never harm another living being with blade or spell. At the start of this game, she pretty clearly harms Kratos with a blade. Is this a plot hole, or will it be covered later in the game? (Please no spoilers if the latter.)
