game crashes everytime i reach a certain part in freya's quest

I've been playing for a while without any issues, but now the game crashes every time I pass a certain point in the quest with Freya, right after defeating Odin's big soldier, the game crashes, and after that, I can't even load the game without it crashing again. I have to load an older save, and it's got me completely stuck. I don't know what to do.
