what's the problem?

amazing graphics, huge maps and explorable nine realms. Of course it has 190 gb. Do you complain about RDR2 having a large download?

Yep. Games have gotten quite large lately. For AAA games I'm surprised if they are less than 100 GB now.

Thank goodness SSD prices aren't to bad. Or at least weren't when I upgraded from a 8700K to 7800X3D in December 2023. Bought a 2TB Samsung 980 Pro (PCI-E 4.0 x4) for $130 (the model with the heatsink) on newegg.

But man do I feel bad for people without fast internet (as in at least 500 Mbps). Esp if there is no pre-loading.

I'm SUPER thankful gigabit fiber internet from a ISP called HyperFiber became available where I live (Hot Springs, Arkansas) ~2 weeks ago. Got it installed a few days ago.

Going from a 100 Mbps down 20 up VDSL2 Fiber to the Node connection (can get cable as well but they are WAY over priced and have data caps) to 1 Gigabit fiber, with unl data included is a god send when downloading a new game now.

I know the download size is a bit smaller because the download is compressed, but just for simplicity lets say the game download is 190 GB.

It would take ~4.5 hours on a 100 Mbps connection versus ~30 mins on gigabit fiber, or a little under 1 hour at 500 Mbps.

I was really surprised how poor Internet speed is in most of USA, and how expensive! I've just spoke month ago with friend from USA. Here in Poland it became MUCH better since like 10 years. Now I have 1Gbps connection for 15$ a month...

Haven't play this one yet on PS, is it bigger then the first game?

I have good internet and two 1TB SSDs... But 190 GB is still insane! I will have to uninstall a bunch of stuff to play this..

Or I might just wait because I want to upgrade to the 50 series GPUs which I 'think' are coming Q1 2025. Currently, I am already holding off on several games until I upgrade, including Ratchet & Clank PC, Alan Wake 2, Ghost of Tsushima, Black Myth Wukong...

I'd rather wait and play these games at max settings than compromise.. Even though I have a 3080 and a 5900x, it's not enough!

its way bigger than the first game, the first game you could only explore a couple realms but in this one you can explore all of them.

Seems even people that sell hard drives are starting to see it as a problem
Lince_SPAIN Sep 8, 2024 @ 6:10am
190 GB due to the PC build bundling uncompressed textures to avoid the CPU drama caused by ports the likes of The Las of Us.

Downloading isn't a problem in Europe, I mean in Spain I have 2Gbps up/down Fiber for like $17. That's a 15 minute download for this game give or take.

I´m very exited about this game (only PSN requirement is kinda bad, but ok :/)

I really hope it can/could be played also on a hdd drive and not only on a ssd drive?

Probably you can, but with lags and sttuters... Game can be hard to play.

If you can afford 60$ for game, you can probably spend 50$ for cheap SSD.
