You can't aggro her, wait for her attacks and react accordingly with proper parries/ blocks.
I'd say it's "just you" to answer that question, I heavily disagree, the combat is way better than GoW 2018, and bosses are way more interesting to fight.
They do matter to keep up with the enemies, but the game is more about mechanical skill than stats. Especially in higher difficulties. So you can make a fight more approachable with better gear, but you can't really bypass the mechanical challenge of actually learning/reacting to the attack patterns.
At least it's true for most bosses, there still are builds that can trivialize some encounters though.
Pressure with arrows and hand to hand attacks, and use your rune attacks whenever you can.
