Like for real.

Even on PS you need an account just to turn it ON. It's a one minute think... Also its an PS exclusive, until now at least, so it's their call. Even at eventual breach the only think they can get from your Steam is your name and SteamID. Also the price is a normal AAA price.. For PS it's an two-year game, for us it's new and with the Ragnarok DLC.

The only valid reason is the countries that can't buy it anything else is just whining.

Yeah and thats the only reason, but a very big percentage of the people here are complaining just because it needs one, which is done in a minute.

Because it's unfathomably dumb to require it for a SINGLE PLAYER game, especially when their previous titles (including the first GoW) don't. The time it takes to create a dummy account is irrelevant. There's no good reason for it, period.

Right? Sony seems to be allergic to money seeing as how they're making it so that countries that don't have PSN can't even buy the game. And I'm not buying any of their new titles where they're forcing PSN on principle even though I have a PSN account from years ago.

Requiring a PlayStation account means that the game will now be dependent upon Sony servers. If you want to play the game in the future and there are server issues, or if the game is no longer supported, then you don't have a game anymore.

I don't even understand how that's possible. Google says there's only 195 countries in the entire world right now. Does that mean PSN is only available in 20 countries?

Isn't Sony a global brand? Don't they sell Playstation consoles in hundreds of countries across every continent? But for some reason they don't provide the PSN access that's becoming more and more necessary to fully enjoy those consoles and their games (and also allows people to buy digital games which provides another income stream for Sony)? It's baffling.

It's 184 Countries / REGIONS.
If that was the case it would be available nowhere. The majority of this number is regions from Africa / SEA iirc.

This is objectively false. Both the PS4 and PS5 can be set up and used completely offline.
