random sound repeats in the background

I have this issue as well, it sounds like one of the background sound effects has been set to max volume and is playing on repeat.
Generally it occurs after I've played 2+ rounds and then upon going to the main menu the sound effect drowns out all other audio.

seems like the mini gun firing noise and one of the engi weapons (cant tell if its the sentry or the zappy drone) constantly have this problem

For me it sounds like a warbling screech in the background that just doesn't stop after a mission.
