Personal favourites, others may have different ones:
Scout: M1000
Gunner: All are good, best ones for me are Autocannon, bullet grenade, Minigun (yes really, I like that one even though stage one is a pain), Seismic Repulsor. Level 18 Hurricane is SO MUCH FUN!!! Also strong.
Driller: I have no idea, probably subata... It works well when you really focus on it.
Engi: Krakatoa is very good, Level 18 Shard diffractor goes BRRRR

Scout: crit M1000 or Plasma carbine. Recon scout does good with Zuk+BRT.
Gunner: Autocannon, Leadburster and Coilgun. Minigun is useless past Hazard 3.
Driller: Leadburster & cryo grenade.
Engi: Plasma or Electric Warthog, LMG with lmg overload and Seismic Repulsors.

Personal favorites as well.
Scout: M1000, Cryo Nade (Needs to be upgraded for best potential though)
Gunner: Autocannon just shreds, but all his weapons are pretty good. The Seismic turret is pretty OP.
Driller: Subnata works fine when upgraded, All his beam weapons fall off in higher difficulties, but the Corrosive Nades and Impact axe are pretty good once upgraded.
Engie: Even just the Shotgun fully upgraded with Plasma + Fires both ways is amazing. Turrets become pretty bad in higher difficulties. Shard gun is pretty good.

I dont think so, at least for me, I dont feel bad picking mini gun. It can clear your path, if you invest into it. You do have to time your movement with the reloads though. If you spec into reload speed too much, you arent speccing into damage or fire rate. Then it is mostly garbage trickle damage. If you spec into damage and fire rate and accept the slow reload, you can kite while it is reloading, then turn yourself into where there are (low HP) enemies and cut your path to freedom through a horde. Not useless at all. Works well on Haz4 for me at least. Maybe not great on haz5 as the boss is behind you but I dont understand all the mini gun hate. It can have nice burst damage and pierce.

Just compare the weapon levels & damage numbers. Personally I never put any points into it anymore if I can avoid it, IMO it would need to have piercing in-built and not as an overclock to be useful at higher hazards.

Sorry @OP if this is derailing a bit but you can see the differences :)

I believe it all depends on what you have chosen to go with each time you upgrade in-game. Like one weapon may prove to be nearly useless in one situation or play-through but on the next one, that same weapon slays because of the mutual cohesiveness that it shares with any other upgrade you have chosen before or after it. But this is kind of old news at this point right. Cheers!

The game doesnt know how to do math. Look at the dmg your weapons do compared to the total damage at the bottom.

I know it will be a bit strange to hear, but for me the best weapon is the voltaic shock fence when you have the XP grab perk.
wristsofury Mar 19, 2024 @ 6:58am
I slept on the Shock Fence until doing the Hazard 5 Equip-4-Electric-Weapons objective. It absolutely clapped the boomerang, zuk and the drone. I was making no effort to place them strategically either.

The minigun isnt bad but the autocannon is just better and trying to coordinate the firing patterns of both is too much.

The autocannon chooses a target and unloads the entire mag in that direction, so it can take some practice to be effective.

Heavy Gunner with autocannon (max it out asap, avoid +firing rate upgrades, you wont need them), leadburster grenade, and seismic repulsors to group them all together is the easiest win on hazard 5. Go for + kenetic damage upgrades. 4th weapon doesn't matter that much, Coil gun, fire drone, incendiary grenade, cryo grenade are all fine.

Driller's Fire Turret is great until last boss, but yeah it doesn't focus a single target well. Best way to get the level 60 Strong-Arm Driller objective done imo.
