reload mechanic isn't fun
i feel like the reload upgrades are so important to the success of the run that not choosing when offered means you likely to die i feel the best solution is to increase reload speed when you level up. this would allow for better builds and make things more convenient if new upgrades get added to the pool

I like the reload mechanic. It make the upgrades choices more diverse. Damage or fire rate? Well Damage may overkill little guys but fire rate can kill more things but I have to think about reloading. So it depends what you want to do with the weapon, clear trash or hit bigger targets. I think the reload give more diversity.

i think the reload mechanic is core to the game, but right now you have to manage reload, movement speed and overall DPS and if the devs add more stuff than it gets harder because most of my best runs got early reload upgrades my argument is not that reload sucks but rather that reload is so vital to a good run that i feel forced to pick them most of the instead of the things i actually want

It's about finding the balance with the different stats. Some weapons do not need reload at all, and for some weapons reload is the best possible upgrade. You are not forced to pick it, it depends on what build you chose to run with.

I really think it depends on the gun, but reload never hurts. There is some juggernaut build that doesn't want reload, but that's the only one I know of.

I don't think taking reload out of the pool really fixes anything though. It just shortens the already short list of upgrades we can get. I want more upgrades. Flat stat bumps are fine, but it'd be fun to find rare upgrade perks that do interesting things.

I felt the same at first, but now I'm ok with it.
It adds some depth to the gameplay. You don't just steamroll through the caves. You have burst, then withdraw, then burst again (until you're ready to actually steamroll).
The way you feel at the start (slow and underpowered) makes you appreciate your upgrades more. And when you finally go all guns blazing and evaporate everything in sight it feels great.

wow never expected anyone to notice thanks guys, let me be absolutely clear saying something isn't fun is not me saying i want it removed i like the concept i agree it adds depth i just took issue with the execution not the theory. i'll try a few different builds to see if that works, my most used class is gunner who has a slow reload speed so maybe i just need a different class. thanks again for the feedback everyone

I think it reduces diversity since fire rate is only interesting when you start to overkill the enemies or have wepons with high area factor. Otherwise its always beneficial to go for damage since the reload sometimes is longer than the time shooting that weapon.
And in particular, since you cant manually reload the weapons or fire them empty. So occasionally i run around with 10 bullets in my mingun because i cant reload it just to encounter another swarm and instantly have to reload.

I also think the Reload mechanic is kind a nice, because it's more unique. and makes sense in this game.
Maybe there will be more possibilities to skill around this, for example with the "explosion on reload" stuff. Or thinks like +dmg reduction while reloading a weapon.

This is just the release i am sure they will wokr out ways to balance it, so it's fun.

what i also have to say, on some classes especially at the beginning of a round this could give you a feeling of helplessness, which is underwhelming. But i am looking forward to some adjustments :)
