At least on h1 its kinda viable to beat it after some hours played and learning its timing.
I usually try to fake a direction im not even going to when I see hes gonna jump, and works often. Move speed is a must tho.
If it only followed it would be very easy to cheese. A big fireball with huge aoe could be nice, as an option.
Love it when these kiddos get smoked by a boss on their first run, then demand it gets removed from the game...Not how to make it better, or playstyle adjustments...Naw just get rid of it 🤣👍
I think the idea of a large volley of fireballs/spit where the player needs to be aware of position but only needs to move an inch instead of 4 could also mitigate the need to run deep into something else that will murder you.
For reference I've put probably 6-700 hours into various VS-likes/Brotato-likes.
Picking weapons that aim at the strongest enemy as their perk helps too.
I've died sometimes from the boss but that's because I've usually done something dumb like not leaving myself an opening or getting boxed in.
