New Mechanic of clearing the landing zone of Supply drop killed it for me
Why did they make this change?? Who the heck asked for this?? DRG original game never had this, and neither did this demo.

Having to 'clear out' the landing zone for the supply drop is dumb. It never cared before; just drop it wherever and kill/smash whatever is in the way. Now I die trying to get supplies.
This makes it way worse.
This doesn't really stay true to the lore/original content either, if you want to look at it that way. (dropping loot/pickups wherever and you just deal with it)

I personally like the puzzle or difficulty aspect it adds. Trying to clear it and path the enemies properly while doing so is a fun challenge.

It's a bit silly way to do it. Only thing I wish they'd change is requirement of 100% clearing the area, I have frequently cleared (or thought I did), ran around to pull mobs out of the ring and then get it wondering why it doesn't progress. I think it should be "clear 66% of the rock" and then crash down and clear the area.
Locked area might be because it'll squish any mobs (except the juggernaut) when it lands directly on top of them, which is very fast & easy way to end levels and get the buff on way out. Just wander over when the event pops up, clear the area and wander away to mine. Then get back when the last strong mob spawns, grab the supply area and most of the time mob gets squished.

New mechanic absolutely sucks and feels like a punishment instead of a reward. You playtest that once and you get as a result "yeah that is not fun". How did that even get changed in the first place?

Fast diggin perk dosen't sound so useless now, yep.
Or you wanna exchange nitra for ammo like "lore/original content" ?

After several runs it is almost a required mechanic to save the drop for using it to kill that round's boss, especially if you haven't gotten good damage upgrades.

It's nearly impossible if it lands in an area with minerals and if it's Morkite GOOD LUCK! They took everything from the base game and flipped it. Nitra is one hit, Morkite breaks if you look at it. But now everything is like hacking through dystrum! Was thinking these guys were a branch of GSG but they clearly never played DRG 1 time. Haz1 SHOULD NOT have bigger swarms than Haz5!

yep exactly

I think it's great. It adds a lot of strategy.

You can lead the swarm away, and come back and mine it when there are barely any enemies.
You can get mining perks.
You can get weapon upgrades that damage terrain.
You can use the enemies that damage terrain to help.
You can chip away at it a bit and then run and come back later.

There are so many options for how to deal with it.

This. And also the fact that a supply drop will kill almost everything but a juggernaut when it lands.
