It's possible to have coop
"IT HAS TO BE MP!"
"NO MP NO BUY"
"WHY DEVS WANT GAME TO FAIL? NO MP IN CURRENT YEAR?!"
There are thousands of MP games. Kindly perform an act of self-stimulation upon yourselves and go play them.
Gunfire literally did it. You can either have a simplified level up system without pausing, or you can have the player who leveled up be invincible while they select their upgrade without disrupting the game with a pause, and you can put a reasonable time limit to choose like 10~30s to avoid abuses.
Risk of rain is basically an arena roguelike/lite like vampire surivor but the level ups are items instead.
It's 100% doable to make this a functional co-op game with some changes for a separate mode, it's not even hard to imagine. In general when people say that a game is "made for single player" or "made for multiplayer" and doesn't work the other way, it's usually just biased nonsense because they prefer multiplayer or singleplayer games, and they have no real argument that can't be debunked easily.
You know what people say all the time about DRG? Not this one, actual DRG. That's it's bad in SP, not made for it, not fun in SP, doesn't work in SP... And they dismiss people giving feedback about the singleplayer because who cares about single player? Not them, and that's more important than the hundreds of thousands of players who do. Which is just as much nonsense as those like this guy:
Who have no idea how to design games, and don't realize how few good multiplayer games there actually are whereas there are far, far more single player games, are ACTUALLY the most annoying consoomers on the internet. No intellectual honesty and ability to comprehend their understanding of the world is not a substitute for what reality actually is whatsoever.
Noooooo people are saying they want multiplayer!!! How dare they make a request or share an opinion on a place specifically made for that purpose! Whatever am i gonna do! My steam forum experience is RUINED! I must enter this thread and be MAD! My single player experience is RUINED!!
Absolutely ridiculous, people these days, i swear.
