Purpose of "Anomaly Dives"
Not complaining, just curious - is there a mechanical purpose/benefit to Anomaly Dives? Masteries increase various stats. Vanguard Contracts and Lethal Operations are your daily/weekly "cycling" experiences with modifiers to keep things a bit fresh for particularly experienced players who've ground the normal game into dust...

But Anomalies? I'm not spotting a purpose to them yet. They seem, for all intents and purposes, to be a dumbed-down, "static" vanguard/lethal expedition (i.e. normal run with a couple modifiers). Is that really it or am I missing some benefit to them in their current state?

Anomaly dives are there only for fun and bragging rights. They don't give you any benefit beyond the xp and credits you'd get for any mission. If you enjoy playing them, great! If not, you're not missing out on any stat increases.
