Count em! achievement - shoot 150k bullets
It's one of the new achievements, that 0.5% players managed to get already. I thought it will be easy, but it turned out to be harder than I thought - I managed to get to only 115k. I have all the upgrades in the main menu except those that require the new cores resource.

Difficulty

It shouldn't be too hard, we don't need more enemies or tougher enemies, we just need to be constantly shooting. However, we cannot kill the final elite too quickly, we should run away from it and stay on each map as long as possible. I tried on Hazard 2, but I think it was too easy.

Mission

Obviously Biome Mastery, because it's 10 maps instead of 5. I've done Crystalline Caverns, but I am thinking that Hollow Bough might be better, so that we can block the elite on the re-growing vines, in order to spend more time on the map.

Class (choice based on bonus)

Weapons Specialist Gunner seemed like an obvious choice, due to access to Projectile weapons. Recon Scout is maybe worth consideration, for the reload bonus on dodging? Heavy Gunner has a reload bonus on heavy weapons, but there are only two heavy projectile weapons. Otherwise, only the primary weapon matters - we need a projectile weapon, which disqualifies about half of the available 12 classes.

Weapons

We need high fire rate and fast reload, and ideally a large clip. This probably disqualifies weapons such as Boomstick, Plasma Charger, LOK-1 Smart Rifle, Bulldog Revolver, M1000, Nishanka.

I have no idea how Tactical Leadburster grenade is counted.

Zhukov and BRT7 are probably best choices - despite their clips being 20 and 24, they actually shoot in 4 directions, and all bullets count.

I have played with Minigun, Stubby, GK2 and Drak-25 Plasma Carbine, and I've made an interesting observation - Plasma rifle was often the only weapon shooting, when there was no line of sight. However there aren't many plasma projectile weapons - the only other choice is LMG Gun Platform. And Warthog, but it always shoots.

LMG Gun Platform with plasma bullets and mining walls might be pretty powerful, especially with the artifacts that give gold/nitra when mining walls.

Class (again, but choice based on primary weapon)

Weapon Specialist Gunner starts with a Minigun (average - doesn't shoot when mining), and we can pick 3 other projectile weapons - I would go for Zhukov, BRT7, LMG Gun Platform, Drak-25 or Warthog.

Driller doesn't have access to many projectile weapons.

Tinkerer Engineer starts with Warthdog (perfect?), we could pick LMG Gun Platform (perfect?), but then we have to pick Stubby (average?) and LOK-1 Smart Rifle (poor?). Maintenance Worker engineer starts with LMG Gun Platform, and gives us access to Construct weapons, but there is no other Projectile Construct. So either way we end up with 2 great weapons, 1 average, and 1 poor.

Recon Scout starts with Zhukov (perfect), and gives access to Light weapons, so we can get BRT7 (perfect), then we can get Drak-25 (again perfect), and as a fourth one - Deepcore GK2, Stubby or Subata - all of which I would say are average.

Artifacts

I've managed to get Popup Tripod very early (+ fire rate and reload when stationary), but I was probably not using it much. I also got Ammo Rig for its +50% fire rate, however slower movement hurt me a bit. And I also got Turbo Encabulator, which improves reload speed but decreases mining speed for each overclock (this really hurt in the end!). I also managed to get Diver's Manual, which increases reload speed by 10%. These are probably the artifacts that we need.

If playing Recon Scout, I would also aim to get Reflex Calibrator and Armor Grease, to increase the dodge chance and get that extra reload speed from the class bonus.

Upgrades

Priority is fire rate and reload speed. Levelling up weapons for overlocks is important, but I wouldn't take the "cosmetic" improvements - we are easily going to reach lvl 70. Moving and mining are both important for two reasons - exploring entire map to get gold/nitra to buy more upgrades; and running away from the elite to spend more time on the map (I shot 35k bullets on the last map alone, simply by running away from the dreadnought).

Final notes

Please share your thoughts and ideas; and if you got the achievement - let us know how you did it :)

just do a single biome mastery.
PAY4CRASH2 Jun 27, 2024 @ 1:17am
Hazard 3
Weapons Specialist Gunner +
Lead Storm (Default) + BRT7 Burst Fire + Zhukov Nuk17

I got the achievement on Steam but it's still considered not completed in my game for some reason.

It seems like it's bugged. I've tried using scout and guns that shoots 4 way. Actually two 4-way guns on biome mastery

I can confirm that Tactical Leadburster counts for the achievement. I got the triple grenade overclock and that really sped up my progress. But even then, I would say that you need to do a Biome Mastery for the 10 total levels.

Sadly enough, I failed my run, but I got the achievement when I retried (without returning to menu). Was my 3rd time or so, maybe the achievement is bugged and counted each run by mistake, since I had not returned to main menu.

Sorry, I can confirm that its not bugged. I have just unlocked it right now. Use the zhukov and OC until you unlocked 8-way. Upgrade fire rate and reload only. I've unlocked it at stage 10 of Biome mastery so you need to upgrade those two or you'll go short I assure you that.

Got it with the Engineer without trying, lots of turrets is lots of bullets.

Got it with drillmaster with grenade class, had axe, krakatoa, bumerang and finally bullet granade...got 3 granades OC, fire OC, picked kadency every time I got it.....did it on 8-10 floor, forgot which one(hollow h2), and was suprised I got it since I wasnt even aiming given my build(only last weapon counted for it(guess)...

Recon Scout. Just get the weapons that shoot in 4 directions and max those first, easy run.
JAYded_1 Jun 27, 2024 @ 11:09am
I just did that today using a biome challenge haz 3 which gives you 10 levels to play. Used the Tactical lead burster and got the overclock that splits into 3 smaller grenades for even more projectiles. Upgrade reload and fire rate as much as possible. Get 3 other good projectile weapons and pretty easy from there.

I just did it with a Tinkerer Engineer, while on stage 9.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3276665276

This is how my progress looked like at the end of every stage:
  1. 5k
  2. 14k
  3. 24k
  4. 39k
  5. 66k
  6. 90k - maxed out LMG Gun Platform on this stage
  7. 115k
  8. 144k - got Ammo Rig artifact on this stage

I was hoping for turrets wall mining but didn't get that overclock.

This achievment IS 100% bugged!!!
I know this because whilst attempting to complete it, just now on a run its procced/popped for me in Steam, (& i was like, wtf!?!) yet i knew for a fact id not reached 150K projectiles.
Then a minute later it popped up in top-right corner , id only 105K or so projectiles.

Im still in that run now, paused it to write here.

EDIT 1:Yeah, the achievment is unlocked on Steam but NOT in game.

EDIT 2: Wow, even wierder, the "Milestone" ingame isn't unlocked, BUT on the very next run ive just chosen the +50% PIERCING reward. So ive got teh reward but the Milestone is stil greyed out :/

Well, you got the Steam achievement and you got the in-game reward for scoring it... So the only problem is that it shows as incomplete in the game?
punchobastardo Jun 29, 2024 @ 3:31pm
I did that on 1st try with Gunner all kinetic with buffing firerate to the extreme and taking my time with bosses (not killing them as fast as possible), not too difficult at all.

The achievement and artifact reward are bugged, they unlock too early. But the milestone can still be done too. I got the achievement and artifact in another run and then later did the milestone too.

Did it by accident without trying with tinkerer engineer while doing a biome mastery.
