I can't take this, freaking hell. Did any empathetic person play-test this early access build of the game at any point?
Did you guys seriously think a constant looping beeping noise that cannot be disabled and just plays forever and overwhelms your experience is the way to go?
This quickly ruined the launch for me personally. I want to enjoy the game, I was so hyped for it, and the demo didn't have this garbage sound loop.
1. Have you tried turning the sound from settings down? Was the sound still happening?
2. Have you cleared the entire beacon area of rock and the sound was persisting? It should stop once you clear the landing zone of the rock.
Thank you for a quick response, I really appreciate it. Look at the bottom of this comment for a suggestion I would give to the dev team to address this issue effectively.
This is correct, it does go away once the beacon is cleared, HOWEVER:
This is a game where you are often in situations where the beacon cannot be cleared immediately because of the swarm surrounding you and blocking you from doing so.
The beep continues UNTIL you get to the beacon, clear the landing area and stand there for a few seconds. This isn't always feasible to do as soon as the beacon appears.
I dislike how it makes me try to rush to the beacon not because of the reward, but rather because I need to shut the annoying sound loop up. I don't think this is how it should be.
Furthermore, the beeping continues even when upgrade menu or pause menu are open, and you can still constantly, faintly hear it even if you're on the other side of the map.
Make the sound a single beep every 5 seconds or so, loud enough to get your attention but not constant like what we got now. Just a beep and then a few seconds of silence. Like a sonar beep or something like that.
On top of that, make sure that it no longer is audible when Upgrade menu is open and when Pause menu is open. This is CRITICAL.
Thank you!
