does dreadnaught melee flat out one-shot?
I was 200 hp gunner with something like 20 armor, and the moment i was about to kill the damn thing, boom, game over screen, i was confused as hell. I get the leap will chunk your health if your in the way, but my guess is I just let it get too close before it died

im not too upset since the run was just to get a single milestone but i am curious how much it hits for, can't find anything online either

What Hazard level were you on? Enemies deal more damage on higher hazards so something you can survive on Hazards 1-3 might kill you on Hazards 4-5 for example.

And no, the Dreadnought doesn't instantly kill you. But it can do way over 200 damage on higher levels. As for Armor, it's very ineffective at preventing damage. The difference between 10 to 20 or 20 to 50 is not worth the upgrades.

Sometimes its not just the boss but a combination of things. I know those bugs that throw the pink ball projectiles can be really hard to keep an eye on when you are watching everything else. And more than once I've been caught in a situation where several of those projectiles have slowly balled up and hit me at the same time as the boss and deleted me and everything I ever knew.

dreadnaught can definitely hit over 200hp on high difficulty

legendary armor uprgade is worthy , epic ok . great choice for specific power artifact that encourage low health

No its not, health upgrades are way better then armor for low health builds. Thats possibly the reason why he got oneshot in the first place, LMAO.

Even on hazard 5 a dreadnaught melee hit doesnt oneshit you if you have around 350 HP or more ofc..

armor? you mean the stat that does effecttively nothing since early access release?
Perplex Apr 8, 2024 @ 2:46am
I think it does around 320-350 dmg on Haz 5. But do not quote me on this.

Dreadnought hits way too hard because they could not be bothered to give him real attacks, so they had to crank up his damage stat instead to make him a threat.

Started playing today. Yes, the Dreadnaught hits way too hard. He jumps on me once and I die. It's kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. None of the other Survivor type games one-shot you on the very first boss. Game needs balancing and a dodge move.

You just walk perpendicular to the dreadnought when it does its windup animation. Dodge unnecessary.

I think there are actually people trying to tank this thing with a full armor build like in world of warcraft :steammocking:.

Play a bit more and learn to manually dodge it or... use the dodge that's in the game.

Avoiding the attack is pretty easy, given that the timing is extremely predictable. The hitbox for it can be a little hard to get used to though.

One thing to keep in mind is that what you should be doing throughout stage 5 is clearing a large area, not gathering resources. You need a large enough space for you to dodge and not get slowed down by mining or anything else. That's generally a good idea throughout the other stages too, since it lets you create a large clump of enemies you can circle around and farm for XP. Useful against most elites too.

Plus, as mentioned, armor is not a useful pickup. I'm not sure if anyone has found the math on what it actually does, but it blocks way less than you might think. If you get a choice between +12 Armor and +3 Crit Chance, take the Crit Chance.
