Both good games while this one is a barebones but great foundation.
As a idler? VS hands down. I could not play DRGS without looking or leave it overnight to farm meta progression resources.
Survivor just has more content in terms of weapons, combing weapons to make new weapons, and maps. The areas are larger and survivor is way faster paced.
This game is actually very slow in terms of pacing. It also has some incredibly frustrating mechanics and balance issues.
After another year or two it might be able to contend with vampire survivors but right now I don't think the choice is even close if you haven't played survivor yet.
It is fun. But it has very very minimal content.. balance is kinda whack.. there are a couple of problems + an issue I do not recommend to discuss here (hint.. read the last patch notes and you will catch the drift, if you care about stuff like that).
Still like I said.. a great foundation they can build upon just like vampire survivors, halls of torment and soulstone survivors.
I dunno if you should buy it or not. It all comes to your preferences. If you like certain stuff or not. The core gameplay however is mostly fun. I couldnt stop playing when I bought it. Played 8 hours straight. But I can see it not holding me for thaaaaat much longer as of it right now.
Will do the same like with halls of torment.. play 10-20 hours and wait for couple of content patches.
But DRG:S seems pretty fun to me even as it is. And I assume it will get better.

Oh yeah, I think you got permabanned on the DRG forums for some idiocy. Maybe the mods can refresh our minds?
